Getting to CHS Field

Art and creativity have always been an important part of the St. Paul Saints’ culture. When the Saints relocated to the historic Lowertown Arts District, they seized the opportunity to collaborate with the local art community and infuse the new park with the artistic spirit of Lowertown. The result was the development of a “Community Art Program” that combines public art, community art activities and opportunities for local artists to display and sells their work.

The Andy Nelson Artist Gallery located behind home plate at CHS Field is named for the artist responsible for the murals and other artwork that livened up Midway Stadium from 1993 – 2014. The gallery serves as a venue for temporary public art installations commissioned by the Saints and features two art kiosks reserved for local artist to display and sell their work during games. The “Art in Park” kiosk program is managed by The St. Paul Art Collective, a Lowertown based nonprofit that produces the popular bi-annual St. Paul Art Crawl.

The Local Art Showcase is a rotating exhibition program that highlights work by local artists. The bi-monthly exhibits are displayed in the Securian Club and the Saints Front Office lobby.

You can find pregame, family fun at the Saint’s “Game Day Art Tent”. The program features free art activities and demonstrations by local artists. The location of the Art Tent alternates between the 4th Street gate and the Broadway gates. Follow the Saints on FACEBOOK for art tent activity announcements.
